Don't you just hate journals without quotes? Well of course you have to be a journal person in the first place , but let's ignore that tiny detail first. Like at the bottom of the page or somewhere at the beginning of the month's page . I mean , everyone needs a little inspiration a day . It could come anywhere really; listening to a radio host in the morning, reading your favorite book, singing your favorite song in the shower, the list is endless. I, however, am a sucker for bedtime quotes so let's focus on thatπ
Now I am writing this after a day of doing completely nothing, in the spirit of lazy Saturday. There is nothing to watch on tv, you already did your laundry and even had time to rearrange your closet, the dishes are clean and everyone is busy so you can't really go out. Take a walk you say? Nah, I'm too lazy for my own good. So I head to bed, then I think , it has been a while since I even had time to look at my journal, maybe I could do that. So I do . Then it hits me. It comes to me like Nairobi CBD traffic at 8.00am ,this book has no quotes! So how am I supposed to feel good about myself if I have done nothing the whole day? That quote was my saving grace, my pat on the back( of course I was gonna look for one about enjoying my life because that is what I did with my day).
Do I have the energy to google quotes? No, electronics are bad before bed. So dear journal makers, Association of all companies that hand out free journals as an advertising strategy, do include the quotes in them. The bottom of every single page including the index would be nice. That's how we lazy bums like it. Thanks
It's astounding how u make the reader be a part of you through your words... Something not so many writers can do without loosing their content.
